Paris remains a dream destination for many of us, whether we’re traveling for work or pleasure. But in recent years, hotel prices – similar to New York – have spiraled out of control. In some cases, you can end up paying 750 euros for an 18-square-meter room. On top of that, the growing number of so-called trendy boutique hotels hasn’t made the search any easier. Finding a reliable and, more importantly, affordable option has become a real challenge.
That’s why we’ve decided to skip recommending individual hotels and instead share a list of our best finds from recent years. We’ve visited around 20 hotels, including The Hoxton (too loud), Rocherouart (quite expensive for what you get), Pigalle (a bit too run-down), Les Deux Gares (too tiny), Delano (quite chic, but the room rate is too expensive), and Hôtel Particulier Montmartre (it’s beautiful, but has become a bit too posh and in summer they charge 1,500 euros per night without breakfast).
So, here are five places that offer at least decent value for money. After all, most of us are just looking for a quiet, clean place to sleep and a nice, simple breakfast in the morning.
It’s the preferred choice for our Pretty Hôteliers when they visit Paris, especially during fairs like Maison et Objet, which many attend annually. Henriette is not overly playful with excess; instead, it’s a beautifully understated, small, and welcoming hotel. With 32 clean, simply designed rooms, Henriette truly feels like a home from home in the heart of the 13th arrondissement. The hotel is privately owned by Vanessa Scoffier, a former fashion stylist.

Hôtel du Sentier is one of those places that feels slightly under the radar, perfect for those seeking something unique in central Paris. Spread across several small buildings, it offers a contemporary design with minimalist decor. The entrance of the hotel also marks the entrance of the Passage du Caire (Cairo Passage). Built in 1798, the alley is the oldest in Paris. It was first specialized in printing and lithography, then in tailoring – which is still the core business today.

For coffee lovers, the owner’s passion shines through with the carefully selected coffee options, including sous-vide coffee and a stylish drip machine. In the basement you find a typical French restaurant. What’s on the menu? Starters like soup of the day for €10 and main courses like Croque Monsieur for €17.

At the back of the hotel, the owners have opened a charming wine bar – La Cave du Sentier. It offers a wide selection of natural wines – also for tasting, making it a perfect spot for an aperitif before dinner.

HOY is a wellness-focused hotel in the heart of Paris, perfect for those looking to truly relax and take care of themselves. Every aspect of this boutique hotel prioritizes well-being. You’ll find yoga classes, a plant-based restaurant, and thoughtful details like black charcoal in your water. The rooms are designed with Feng Shui principles, featuring calming neutral tones and minimalist decor.
What we liked
Each room comes with a stretching bar. They really take care of your health at this place. Brownie points also for the florist right at the entrance of the hotel.
Prettiest room
Our favourite is the suite with a view of the Parisian rooftops, especially lovely during golden hour when the light creates a beautiful glow.

The Hotel Pulitzer is part of a Spanish hotel group that also owns hotels in Barcelona and Buenos Aires. It blends Spanish charm with Parisian creativity in a really effortless way. Located in the lovely 9th arrondissement, it has 44 chic rooms with warm tones and a mix of modern and classic design. Downstairs in the lounge, there’s a cozy tapas bar called Le Patio. It’s a small, intimate spot where you can enjoy light bites or dinner, with dishes like Jamon Iberico for 12 euros and main courses like Linguine al Ragù for around 23 euros.
We liked
The standard rooms aren’t large, but they’re simple, clean, and comfortable. The bigger rooms – especially the suite (about 500 euros per night) – are spacious enough to relax in all day if you wanted. The location of the Pulitzer is another highlight: just around the corner, you’ll discover some real hidden gems, along with plenty of cozy cafés and little shops to explore.
Why we chose it
The well-designed rooms and excellent location offer trendy dining options and coffee shops nearby. We particularly enjoy breakfast in the lounge, making mornings here a delight before starting the day.

By far the most luxurious and expensive on this list, Chateau Voltaire is hard to overlook and truly deserves its spot here. This intimate hotel, featuring 32 rooms and suites, is the brainchild of the founder of the renowned fashion label Zadig & Voltaire. Proudly standing in the heart of Paris, this five-star establishment boasts beautifully designed interiors (even design aficionados will be amazed!).
Downstairs, you’ll also find the stylish Brasserie L’Emil, where external guests are invited to dine as well. It’s definitely a place to see and be seen. What’s cooking? House-made tartare or a classic Niçoise salad, for example. It’s not cheap, but the presentation is spot-on.

The rooftop suite features a fully equipped kitchen, a delightful dining area, and a stylish mini bar complete with a coffee maker, all seamlessly connected to a charming living area. However, the true highlight is the stunning rooftop terrace, offering breathtaking views of Paris that elevate the entire experience.

We like their design concept and it is – after all – a truly authentic luxury experience in a prime location, with exceptional dining and bar offerings that appeal to both guests and locals.
